WIND_PROFILER Vertical profiles of the <WIND> are measured using Doppler radar operating in the VHF-UHF <<EM_BAND>> (30 megahertz-3 gigahertz) that determine the <<WIND_SPEED>> and <<WIND_DIRECTION>> by measuring the line-of-sight Doppler shift of scattered signals from refractive index fluctuations caused by turbulence; wind profiler. 7 IR [GMET, "wind profiler"]
